NESsT's Talent Tool is used in the due diligence process to better understand an entrepreneur and their ability to successfully run an enterprise. The tool was developed from our experience training over 13,000 entrepreneurs. We've used it in six of our open windows in five countries to select the social enterprises that enter our portfolio.
This Governance and Leadership Training Session will help the management teams of social enterprises to:
Better understand the role of boards and why they should seek to create and make them an integral part of their governance.
Identify the entrepreneurial and managerial skills necessary to validate their idea in the market and to grow a successful business model.
Gobernanza
Well-managed social enterprises generate better financial and social outcomes. Having a strong board is a recognized good business practice across the globe. Often, in our cultural context, a proper governance structure is not perceived as key for success. On the contrary, sometimes setting up a board is seen with fear of losing decision-making power and/or ownership.
Whereas, in practice, a board can bring about great value to a growing business, providing strategic advice, access to donors and investors as well as more transparent decision-making.
Governance is key to successfully grow. The goals of this session are to:
Train the SEs leaders on the role of boards
Foster engagement and commitment towards building a good governance structure
Highlight the value added of strong and relevant board members, as strategic advisors and not as executives of the social enterprise
Leadership & Talent
Successful social enterprises are those that are led by entrepreneurial teams that have the core competencies needed at each stage of enterprise development (start-up, validate, scale), and that realize when to bring on talent with these competencies. They are the ones that bring their high-quality products and services to market at the right price with the right cost/revenue structure. And they are the enterprises that can leverage the networks and financing needed at each stage of growth.
We encourage each social enterprise manager participating in the webinar to use the Talent Tool (according to the stage of development of their enterprise. If you are not sure about the stage of your enterprise, fill in this survey).
This is a self-administered questionnaire that assesses the core competencies of the enterprise leader and informs on the leadership mentorship needs, in order to strengthen gaps and transitions responsibilities within teams.
By answering 37 questions over 20 minutes, you will gain an understanding of yourself across 12 core competencies. The tool generates a report with performance ranges (high, medium, low) for each competency and feedback that corresponds to your survey response and score.
During the webinar, we will discuss the main gaps and support needs of each enterprise team. The webinar will be followed by one-on-one consulting opportunities based on the needs of each team.
