Founded in 2013 as a family-run workshop in northeastern Poland, 4Szpaki (4Starlings in English) is a purpose-driven company specializing in handmade, natural cosmetics products. Driven by a deep commitment toward people and the planet, 4Szpaki crafts and sells over 150 vegan products made from high-quality, natural raw materials.
The use of synthetic chemicals and plastic packaging in cosmetics contributes significantly to long-term damage to both human and environmental health. In contrast, 4Szpaki upholds strong sustainability and social responsibility values. All of its products are free from harmful chemicals, not tested on animals, and created using locally sourced materials whenever possible. Its zero-waste packaging is made from paper, glass, and metal, encouraging reuse and reducing the environmental impact of its products.
With four physical retail locations and an online store, 4Szpaki has remained grounded in artisan tradition, ensuring affordable products made from high-quality ingredients for its robust following of customers. At its stores across Poland, customers can engage with its products and try them before buying. 4Szpaki also places great emphasis on research and development to ensure it can meet growing customer demand for eco-conscious cosmetic products.
Based in Bialystok, a city often associated with conservative values, 4Szpaki has made diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) part of its mission and has taken strong steps to building a workplace rooted in equal treatment, mutual respect, and representation. Its diverse team of over 55 employees includes women, youth, refugees, migrants, members of the LGBTQIA+ community, and people with disabilities. Over 60% of the team are young people, many gaining their first professional experience with a strong onboarding process to support their development. .

4Szpaki has demonstrated a deep commitment to ensuring that all individuals regardless of gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity, or age have equitable access to employment opportunities and a safe work environment. As it continues to scale its business and impact, the enterprise will strengthen its internal processes to strengthen DEI across all areas of the business. Alongside NESsT, the 4Szpaki team will implement DEI policies and tools for inclusive recruitment, company culture, professional and personal development, and transparent communication.
The NESsT Violet Fund’s investment will support the company’s growth strategy, targeting a 30–40% increase in sales and an expanded physical presence with a new store in Poland’s capital city, Warsaw. 4Szpaki’s growth will require employing up to 20 people by 2027, with hiring focused on underrepresented groups including youth, women, LGTBQIA+ community members, and migrants and refugees.
4Szpaki will also work closely with the NESsT Violet Fund team to strengthen its impact communication and DEI awareness campaigns, positioning itself as an inclusive employer and leading the way as a new generation of natural cosmetic companies in Poland.
